Children's Outreach Opportunities
Children's Apple Ministry
The children place an apple in a pouch upon which they write love, peace, faith or hope. Then they cinch it with a ribbon and we take all the apples to local girls and boys clubs, first responders and among many other local organizations. The Mill Neck School for the Deaf and the Bayville Volunteer Fire Department were both particularly moved by this unexpected dear, handmade and healthy gift. We also send our apples to the South Bronx; Missionaries of Charity and St. Anne's Episcopal Church, St. James Episcopal Church on the Sioux Cheyenne Reservation in North Dakota and to Navajoland situated in four corners country, and to Engewood on Chicago's South Side.

The North Shore Sheltering Program opens their doors to the homeless from Thanksgiving to Easter at the Glen Cove First Presbyterian Church. Community organizations and religious institutions takes turns cooking and serving each night. We are greatly blessed that our children are invited, for they learn the spirit of service at a time when it is quite natural to them. The guests have greta gratitude for our family spirit, kindness and yummy food. They love our theme nights like Retro TV Dinner night and Restaurant night where they get a choice of apetizers, main courses and desserts.
