St Johns of Lattingtown is seeking a music intern to join the staff for up to a calendar year. Our program is vibrant and energetic with choirs including our recently formed community youth choir alongside the Parish Choir. Exciting plans to develop childrens choirs for boys and girls are underway. The church possesses a fine Gluck pipe organ (2014), a Steinway piano in the Parish Hall and Yamaha keyboard, all of which would be available to the intern.
Purpose:
To create an opportunity for a High School Senior or recent High School Graduate to advance and exercise their skills in organ playing, accompanying and directing under the guidance of the Director of Music Ministry.
Requirements:
The intern will need to have strong keyboard skills on both organ and piano with a willingness to participate fully in the music program at St John’s.
