A traditional Episcopal funeral service is a focus on the hope of resurrection. The formal liturgy is, in fact, an Easter liturgy and reinforces the principle that as Jesus was raised from the dead, so the deceased will be as well. The liturgy for the dead is an Easter liturgy.
